My father had left our house in the midst of a fight between Lindsey and my mother. My mother was trying to get Lindsey to go with her, to the Y to swim. Without thinking Lindsey had blared, "I'd rather die!", at the top of her lungs. My father watched as my mother froze, then burst fleeing to their bedroom to wail behind the door. He quietly tucked his notebook in his jacket pocket took the car keys off the hook, by the back door, and snuck out.

Literary elements

Satire- literary work in which vices, follies, held up to ridicule and contempt.

Irony- expression in which the intended meaning of the words is the direct opposite of their usual sense.

Analogy- similarity in some ways.

Foreshadowing- to indicate or suggest beforehand; prefigure.

FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE

Figurative- representing by means of a figure or symbol

Figure of speech- a expression as a metaphor or simile, using words in a non-literal sense or unusual way.

Imagery- mental images.

Trope-figurative language or a word used in a figurative sense.

They are all saying that you don't really mean it literally but you mean in a figurative way.

Story Spinner: Option 1

As an old man approached my friends and me on his bicycle he started to speak gibberish, so we all looked at one another and laughed. He started to speak a little clearer so we could under stand him. He asked us if he could have a little bit of money because riding barefoot was about to kill him. We figured out that he was a homeless and poor. We all pitch a couple of bucks in, and a big grin pop up on his face he said thank you and god bless.

We all felt so proud of our selfs we started to help more, and more homeless people. We even started to help with the community more to. It feels so good when you help people in need. One time we gave this man a flashlight so that he would be able to see in the dark when he tries to find places to lay at night.

We all said to our selfs that we're going to do have a fundraiser for all the homeless people and we are going to feed all the homeless all the money will go to the sick homeless people.
